Lets talk about Connected Trucks, not only our trucks but all vehicles in general, I personally have a concern about this, I think we all know that these newer vehicles are rolling cell phones, and you know as well as I do them danm phones listen to you when they are on, and when they are off,, so with that being said, is GMC going to start charging us for some of those creature comforts items that our trucks came with? and here is another Question for the AT4 in the know people out there, can we opt out some how of the being connected, because to tell you the truth, this is our trucks, not theirs, and I don't like anybody but me having control of my truck.

This already happens with other makes. My Acura MDX has remote start only as a subscribed option through the manufacturer. I refuse to pay for the privilege of starting my car.

I would certainly opt out if that choice became available. I have never understood wifi hot spots in vehicles. Pretty much any phone can be a hot spot. I have never activated wifi on a new vehicle, even for free trial.

Yes you can certainly opt out, as I will be doing with my 3 month trial from Onstar runs out next month. That said, that vehicle is still connected and they still will always know where the vehicle is - just miss a few payments or have the need for the popo to disable your vehicle and you'll find out real quick how connected it still is. That said, you definitely don't have to pay for all those extras.

Well I think they should correct my speedometer reading to compensate for my larger tires, it only helps them to determine actual miles for warranty!!!!

Service dept can only program for what size tires were available on your truck. Bet if you brought it up, they'll flag your truck's warrantyunder a discrepancy. Let us know the outcome for future reference/questions.

I honestly dont know about GM but other manufacturers can re-program for other sizes.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. The service dept can re-program, but it would need to be a size used on that model, not his truck only.

Hopefully my question is not off topic but my onstar Remote Access expires 10/2026 whilst Conected Access expires 10/2031. How does one just renew Remote Access? I don't need their data plan since my data plan is my t-mobile sim card in my dash cam which also creates a hot spot and provides data to gmc infotainment system. I did not see an option on Onstar plans for it.

It's called OnStar Connect. $15. There is a yearly plan that saves a person $30, something like pay for 10 get 12 months.

You get Amazon Alexa, Spotify, Pandora, 3 news stations, gm navigation, phone app and others. The pre-re's still get the weather app.
