Hello At4 fam! I'm currently debating on whether I should install an intake. I know this may sound a little weird for some but does anyone have any experience or would know of a COI that doesn't drastically change the sound? Currently looking at S&B or K&N.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Cheers!

I had the K&N COI installed along with the Borla Exhaust...love the sound of the combo and feel like the cold air intake definitely makes a difference. I live at 9k elevation and could tell before the swap, the truck sometimes lagged more than usual when accelerating uphill, etc. After getting the K&N, I don't feel it changed the sound much, just improved the truck's acceleration.
Hope this helps,

I have a 19' 5.3 with the factory performance exhaust and a GM high flow intake system (with clear honeycomb pattern lid) that the previous owner added. I bought the truck with 13k on it and it has 14k on it now, drive like an old man but between the tires and exhaust, I can't hear the air side. I couldn't justify dropping $500 on an air filter if it was my dime, any gains would be at higher rpms with the smoother intake tract when air velocity is up and I rarely see high rpms.

Actually after looking at the window sticker it was part of a performance package for $3195. Tough to read a Canadian sticker.
