Cold Air Induction ?

I use the S&B, just for the extra filtration capacity on the Duramax's.

I’m wondering the same. Looks like it’s a toss up between banks / S&B. Any pros / cons with either?

I also run a wcfabs intake tube. It keeps the stock filter/box in place but gets rid of the resonator and restrictions.

Seriously, who buys a diesel truck and expecting Cadillac quite. 😁

I like guns, so I chose gun metal powder coat and the color blends in with the downpipe and such...

Hello, Does anyone have any thoughts on cold air induction, I am thinking about it but wanted your opinion ? Good, Bad, Anything
In all reality, the oem filter box is a cold air intake from the hood scoop.

No matter who you decide to throw your money to, remember, the oil burners put the fresh air right into a turbo, which causes the air temp to increase from radiant heat and compressing the air (turbo). The intake air then gets routed to the air to air intercooler by down and up pipes, which are non insulated and in the hot engine bay.

But hey, if'n your not after more filtration capacity and less restrictions, you'll still have bragging rights to say your running a cold air intake. Just don't brag to a diesel mechanic! 😁

Side note... a diesel wants heat/compression for combustion, a gasser wants cold dense intake air, cause they have 1,2,3,4,6,8,10,12,16 ZapNinjas screwed into the head for combustion.

You asked and payed zero for my opinion, do with it what you want! 🤣

I would recommend a oil catch can to keep crap out of the turbo inlet also.

Or just maybe a hose stuck down to the undercarriage and a plug on the turbo horn, like a diesel is meant to be allowed to slobber. 😁

Good ole down draft tubes, simple, no moving parts, cheap, then comes people like...

I had a RotoFab item #Product Code : 1016-1080 oil filter on my 2021 6.2 L87 AT4. It helped produce a nice tone coming from it when accelerating before I put a Borla CatBack attack exhaust system on then I couldn't hear it any longer. But they say it can boost HP up to 14. I do not see one for my 2025 yet though.

Do they have one listed for the OP's 6.6d?

In my younger days, I was always looking to change things out like the airbox. All it ever added was more noise. Fast forward to last year and I was watching the Motor Trend show Engine Masters. They tested cold air boxes and found NONE of them increased power. The power increase was eliminating MULTIPLE bends in the system. The results REALLY surprised me. I think the increased noise always makes people feel like they're getting mor HP, but you're really not.

They also tested using various octane fuels. In naturally aspirated engines, the higher octane DID NOT improve HP, but was recommended for turbo and super charged engines for better performance.
