Im hearing a clunking noise and its getting a little louder/worse now each week that goes by. It occurs in the rear ( suspension is my guess? ) when the rear of the truck rocks from side to side. It does NOT make the clunk when I hit a bump or something head on.
I did bring truck to dealer and the lady said they checked everything and looked in the logs ( WTF ) and it is coming from the transmission when it shifts and this is normal . I cant with these people.

LEAF SPRINGS?
I HAD THE SAME CLUNKING, I DID THE INNER TUBE THING AND HAVENT HEARD IT SINCE.

Its the rear leaf springs (most likely). Its a known issue on Sierras and Silverados. I had this issue on my 2023 AT4X (with less than 1500 miles). Dealer told me there isn't a bulletin on it for 2023s yet, but that its generally a known issue and so they replaced the springs for me. The noise is gone.

There is also a product available to fix this - Spring Things - if the dealer won't replace yours or the issue occurs again.

Well the issue has returned with my new set of springs. I’m pretty annoyed. Having spring things installed Thursday as opposed to going with yet another new set of leaf springs. Will report back

Man that sucks. Mine was getting worse and then all of a sudden stopped and now comes and goes. Im looking forward to your update hope it works out ... nothing like buying a 70K + truck and hearing noises !

Is this a mechanical issue or just an annoyance? Mine has it. Doesn't bug me if it isn't an issue.

Does it get worse overtime? My dad is having the same issue. Thank you

had the clunking on my 21 but stopped after i installed my readylift sst lift blocks and ubolts on rear last weekend

New to this group …
I have had the same issue as stated in this thread..a clunking noise primarily when I am turning ..been in the shop for 3 weeks and they replaced one leaf spring ..and still there ..they replaced and or repaired diff and noise is still there…now GMC regional is saying that since I replaced wheels (same size tire) and tires and rear shocks (bilstien) that’s the problema and they won’t troubleshoot fuerther …truck has 8k miles and has no lift (just different wheels/tires)

Any ideas of what to do next ?

I’m am thinking of putting OEM tires and wheels back and also the shocks and see what they say now ???

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

I had a similar issue in my previous AT4, it was a bad torque converter. It got worse and then started doing it everyone I drive. Google GMC torque converter issue.

Thanks for the insight ..I’m a little disappointed in GMC Blaiming it on wheels and tires cuase they can’t find the issue

So I've noticed this clunk noise when exiting my driveway. Also can replicate it when I'm in the bed and sway side to side.

I had/have the same issue on my truck (see signature) after a couple of months of ownership. Dealer tech could not find anything and said he'd tightened spring bolts etc. I could easily replicate the sound by standing on tailgate step and it sounded like the leaf springs and groaning sound when turning slowly such as when pulling out of the garage. Got under the truck and found the top leaf on both sides clicked each time one tried to move the rear up or down (no load). I retightened the shackles and retainer shackles (hope I said it right) and sprayed white lithium grease between layers of leaf springs. I 'think' it has somewhat reduced groaning although can still here a click when I rock the truck.
I think it needs leafsprings replaced, I'll talk to the dealer again.
