Hi all!

Have an AT4 1500 on the way and heard about having a Ceramic Coating applied both inside and outside. Cost is ~ $895 (Premier Finish by Laura Buick GMC) - curious to hear this groups thoughts on the validity of ceramic coatings and if Premier Finish is a quality brand.

They warranty the product for 7 yrs…

Love to hear what this dealer is “ceramic coating” inside the vehicle…
From what Ive read online, it sounds like they do some sort of “protective” spray inside but primarily it’s an insurance product. It covers ripped or torn seats etc. definitely going to a specialized shop after watching the process online. Thank you all

I have a black AT4 and had PPF applied to the entire front and roof. I also had the ceramic coat done. This was all done at an independent shop for around 3k. I always buy black vehicles and this is the best way keep it clean (bugs and dirt come off easy) and looking brand new. As far as the inside, never heard of ceramic coating it =p

I went with a 9 year G-Techniq from a professional. Took them about 6 hours. The majority of the work is spent on prep removing as much of the “orange peel” from the paint before applying the ceramic. I agree with the others saying don’t let the dealership do it. Also did ceramic tint on all windows to reduce UV exposure and heat gain. Not sure yet about the ceramic on the interior surfaces yet. Maybe others here have experience with it. ??

I have always had my vehicles ceramic coated. Been doing for years and I always have a local professional do it. I would never let a dealer do it as they will go the cheapest route to make a buck with the upsale. I currently have the 7 year coating and the main reason that I do it is that you never have to wax again. Every time you wash it, it will look freshly waxed If cared for properly. They have recently started offering an interior ceramic which they say is good for light colored leather where sometimes the natural creases in the leather that occur over time are easier to keep looking new. I have the black AT4 interior so I passed.

Gyeon does make a leather ceramic coating. Considering doing it myself as it looks much easier that a real exterior ceramic coating that when done right requires paint correction prior to application. Typical cost a true ceramic coat in SW Florida is $1500-$2k (exterior only). I don't think you are going to get a true paint ceramic coating job for $895.

They tried to sell me that too, and then got mad when I said I didn’t want it. Almost walked after driving 6 hours to get my truck. You are better off finding a good shop to do the paint correction and then the ceramic. Dealership ain’t gonna do it near as good…if at all!

The Gyeon coating is relatively easy to apply but be careful about spraying it...It dries white-ish on non leather surfaces and is VERY difficult to get off when dry. So test it out on an inconspicuous spot before doing the seat. Frankly with black seats I dont see a huge benefit of a coating...My last vehicle had white seats and it helped with color transfer from jeans etc .

As others have mentioned already, a proper Ceramic coat is going to have contaminant removal, paint correction and conditioning before applying. The spray on ceramic detailers are good after regular washing, but I wouldn't recommend it without a proper ceramic coat first. Just like any wax, if you apply without removing contaminants you just trap them under the wax and against your paint.

Thanks, the kit I bought is the Quartz Leather Shield. It doesn't spray, you drip onto applicator. Thanks for the advice, I will be sure to test an area first and buff/wipe well.
