I really liked this truck. In the shop for warranty repairs for 32 days total, submitted for buyback at 31 days. Process had to go through Better Business Bureau Autoline. Monitored by an Arbitrator with schedules and timelines throughout. Took about a month from start to finish, might have been faster if the GM departments talked to each other. I think 4 different groups to go through.

1st issue was check engine light at 900ish miles. Didn't realize I could have OnStar diagnose it as I was in the middle of nowhere when this happened. Pushed the button at 1313 miles, they emailed me a report. This was key to low usage charge based on mileage before 1st repair. In the end I asked for the $911 to be waived and they did. Interesting set of numbers, during the Halloween season too.

At 9340 miles the oil cooler was leaking. After the repair was done I decided to check my oil about a week later. Glad I did, no oil touching dipstick. They insisted I drive it back to dealer where they added a quart and sent me on my way with a service ticket that states, checked multiple times, OKAY now. At home checked again, half quart low. This is the reason I wanted a full buyback.

Oil in coolant at 10,040 miles. No issues with repair, although I haven't driven the truck much since.

In the end I'm pleased with GM paying me back 100% of what I have into this truck. Nothing extra for lost 32 days of use, made a request of $100 a day that was denied just in case it would be accepted.

As much as I want to go out and buy the same truck my local GMC dealer has some serious quality control issues with their techs. If there's 1 or 2 like I experienced, odds are there's others too. Now I'm comparing the GMC AT4 vs Ford F250 Lariat Tremor. I have experience with my local Ford dealer, no issues there. Check comes in next week so going to buy the following weekend.

I had two lemons with Ford in 23, both buybacks. Now having some issues with my AT4, that I think are resolvable. No truck manufacturer is good at this point. They all have some issues. I'll never purchase another Ford simply due to the number of quality issues, recalls and Ford makes you jump through hoops to get anything done.

CA State Supreme Court ruled on 11/6/24 that used car buyers are NOT "sold with new car warranty". This means used car buyers, can't sue under CA lemon law, but they are still entitled to the remaining term of the warranty.https://www.dailyjournal.com/articles/381643

I read your words 4 times. I first thought who would expect a "new car warranty", buying a used car, even in CA.

But then you come across the OP's truck with 10k miles setting on the dealers lot with 26k of bumper to bumper warranty. And if you have the same issues as the OP, you're screwed on downtime.

Do these lemon's get branded in someway that is disclosed to a new buyer?

I ran across a story today about an Arizona guy with a Ford F-350 that couldn't get his vehicle bought back under lemon law because it was over 10,000 lbs gross weight. Checking into it more a lot of states but not all have this rule. Motorcycles are not covered in a lot of states either which I did not know either.
