Borla S-Type Cat Back Exhaust

Has anyone upgraded their stock exhaust to the Borla Cat Back exhaust system with the carbon fiber quad tips? I am looking to get the Borla S Type, but would like to have the quad tips coming straight out instead of the down pipes.

i had the dealer upgrade to the Borla Cat Back with black quad round tips straight out the back. she growls especially when backed up to a garage door or wall.

I like them but dont work on AT4X. Wish it had the exhaust openings like the AT4 even if its a little less off road practical...

Just curious- you have a “X” rite? You gonna let them hang below rear or actually cut to make cutouts we do not have.

Yes, I have the X. I was thinking of having them hang below the rear. My local GMC parts guy said it won't fit according to the VIN.

I wish they had the exhaust openings as well. It would've been a clean setup. I get it why they have the downpipes for off-road clearance, but I will not be doing much off-roading. Are you planning to upgrade to the Borla? If so, what are you thinking of doing?

@AcclThrls4Xtrm I have the Borla Touring system with the AT4X turn down tail pipes. I hate you cannot even see them from the rear. You can hear them though I purchased my system from SS Exhaust for less than $1500 shipped to my house. It was well packaged and fit like a glove, I did the install myself in about 2-3 hours time. I kinda wish I'd bought the S-Type at times but when towing or cold starts it is plenty loud as is with the Touring muffler.

I would think that would be a direct fit as I do not see any difference other than the cut outs the X does not have.

I ordered the Borla S Type for the AT4 with the Quad tips in black. My guy at the Muffler shop said he would make it work on my AT4X. I should have it completed next week and will send pictures. If it does in fact work!

No Bumper cuts. Just lowering the pipes to come out straight back.
