Occasionally people on the other end of a call say they hear an echo, to the point they can no longer carry on the conversation. Hanging up and calling back doesn't fix it. The problem seems to be random at this point, maybe 15% of the time. I have an iPhone 14 pro.

Any solutions? Thanks.

Here's a potential answer and solution...worked for me.

If you are hearing an echo or a high-pitched noise sound when using the handsfree function with the Bluetooth® car stereo, this may be a result of feedback caused by using two microphones at the same time:
  • one microphone built-in on the cell phone.
  • one microphone built-in on the car stereo.
The two microphones will produce feedback due to the sound coming from two opposite sides.

iPhone Instructions

  1. Go to your settings app
  2. Tap at top to open search bar – enter “noise”
  3. Scroll to “phone noise cancellation”
  4. If it is off turn it on
  5. Ensure phone volume is near or at the highest setting
  6. Ensure the Bluetooth audio is set to around 28-32. Test and set during active phone call
  7. Test volume settings with phone calls to each other while phone user is in vehicle and car is on, to see if this helps

Samsung Instructions

  1. Go to Call history log
  2. Hit menu
  3. Go to call settings
  4. Go to additional settings
  5. Check Noise cancellation setting
