I just bought a 23 AT4 after being a 12 year customer to another brand. Have to be honest I couldn’t be happier. I was shocked to find out how hard it is to find aftermarket rims that fit. This post isn’t to ask what size rim and tire fits but to ask why some don’t just buy an aftermarket rim that has a closer spec to the factory rim? Sure it won’t stick out and give the wide stance appearance but they will still look good. You also don’t need to worry about cutting or stone chips. Same thing with tires, go one size bigger or even stock but with just a more aggressive pattern. Not bashing anyone just curious. Surely companies like fuel or method must make some nice wheels that fit without the use of spacers to clear the oversized calipers.

IMO, stock wheels and tires, just don't look right on these trucks to my eye. I actually liked the stock AT4X wheel, should have just gotten 1.5" wheel spacers and a bit bigger Nitto RG's and left it. But I didn't.

I have recently switched from my 18x9 -13 offset Fuel contra wheels on 34x11.5 R18 nitto RG's, to a 20x10 - 12 WORX wheel with Nitto RG 295/60 R20 tires. Much prefer the look and feel of the new tires/wheels over the 18x9 setup I went with. Yes, I had to do quite a bit of trimming, but it was worth it to me. The trucks stance and look is much better IMO. It also rides better overall, IMO. It cost me $1000 to do this swap, considering I had 8K miles on the fuel contras and nitto RG's I traded in, I think that is a more than fair deal for brand new wheels and tires that I like much better. Wish I had done that in the first place. Since each tire/wheel is 15 lbs heavier than what I had on before, I expected worse fuel MPG, but I am actually getting better MPG. The tires are also supposed to be the same height as my 34x11.5x18 nittos I traded in, but they are a tad taller and also wider. Not too tall or wide, just right. The extra 15 lbs per wheel isn't noticeable, and for whatever reason my fuel mileage is better, which is a nice perk.

Each to their own, though. I also installed Airlift 5000 airbags along with the wireless onboard Airlift compressor for the airbags. I can adjust my airbags from no air up to 100 psi. I leave it at 6 or 7 psi for regular driving, set it to 12 psi when I pull my job trailer, which is often. Yes, the ride in the rear is a bit more stiff with the airbags, but not terrible. I had the same Airlift airbags installed on my 2020 AT4 and liked how much they improved trailer pulling, plus they do give a bit of a rear end lift, which I like a little rake also.

your right they do have a less aggressive stance then some from the factory. I feel like wheels with the slightest bit of offset and a more aggressive tire would look nice. The his way you eliminate the trimming and hopefully wheel spacers

It's really all about what each person wants for the look of their truck. Many people leave them stock, and nothing wrong with that. The truck usually rides better stock, gets better MPG stock and has less chance of things going wrong. Bigger tires and wheels plus even a front end level put more stress on things. Ball joints go back more quickly, etc.

I just never leave mine stock. I don't go extreme, but usually a front level and maybe something slight in the rear (depends on the truck). Only once did I go for a bigger lift - a 6.5" BDS lift on a 2014 Sierra Z71. Had 35" tires, 20x10 wheels with a negative offset. Looked real nice, but just a tad more than I wanted. If I had my druthers, I would go with a 4" lift, which on top of the 2" lift the AT4's come with, would give one 6" lift over a non AT4 Sierra. But that would for sure void the factory warranty. A front end level you will probably not void the factory warranty, at least not the whole warranty.

In the end, it is just what each person prefers. I used to by mid level trim trucks, because I just didn't want to pay more for the top level of trims. Now, if you don't buy an AT4 level trim, you miss out on some of the key real nice features, like camera rear mirror, heads up display, etc. Since you can't really buy an AT4 under 70 K anymore, I am willing to drop 3 more K or so on the tires, wheels and front end level to make it look like it should have from the factory. I trade about every 3 years or thereabouts, so this is something I've done many times over the years. Part of the cost of the truck I just figure in when I trade.

I’m definitely going to buy some rims and tires, I just need to find a rim I like that doesn’t require spacers or trimming.

By spacers, I assume you mean so it clears the UCA? I think an 18" wheel on a positive or zero offset will be more likely to hit the UCA (or be real close), than a 20" wheel. But it is good to ask here as I am sure there are many who know. Do you have a wheel in mind you want to go with? Brand, model, etc?

Yeah I’m concerned it will either hit the UCA or the brake caliper . Probably over played but I love the bead lock look. Like the method MR305

Congrats, however I'm curious did your owner manuals come with a case or in a zip lock bag? I just purchased a at4x and my manuals were stuffed in a zip lock bag

This is all I got with my At4x. I have to go to the app to see the owners manual.
