AT4X (Massage) Seats

Has anyone else found the massaging seats a bit unfomfortable? I think its just that they are harder with the massaging system in them.

Maybe its just me?
I just got my X and I can say that they are as stiff as my 21 Tahoe was when new. It didn't have massaging seats. GM seats just suck in general. I love everything else about the truck but these seats....

I was saying they aren't bad/are pretty good, then drove our 8 year old X5 on Sunday, and super comfy. They will soften over time - and has much better support than my 17' Silverado (especially lateral) - The lumbar bolster keeps inflating and I have to release air when I get last 4 days. I do use the massage feature every day, hopefully that soften it up a bit. I prefer firmer seats just in general and with all the adjustments - have them how I like them.

JDAT4X: Solution: I had that issue on my new truck then discovered it will save and retain lumbar/bolster settings if you disable seat retracting on exit; hope I'm saying it right. You just need to set the seat position right to get in/out of the vehicle without having to move your seat back. The seat memory gets reset if you enable seat rectracting on exit. It has worked for me for several weeks now. Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks! I will give that a try. It did correlate to when I set the seat exit position this last week (retracting would be correct)….

I drove a 2022 Chevy 1500 ZR2 before. The seats in that were like wagon seats. I guess I got use to it. I really didn't notice. I put 30k miles on it and traded it in on this 2024 AT4X the seat felt great, but I was use them. I drove it straight down to Smyrna beach Florida from Louisville, Kentucky. Drove back to Louisville 7 days later. Two days after getting back to Louisville, I drove to Centennial, Colorado. I did have my massage seats on continuously.. Good times.

I just picked up my new 2024 AT4x a week ago and ran into the issue of it fully inflating because of the exit setting. I disabled the exit setting and it did stop the inflation but now I’m having a really hard time with the lumbar adjustment. Does anyone know of a way to reset the seat to the initial settings? Thank you.

Deflate Lumber support then save in driver/key 1, 2 or both. It will remember the setting so long as you keep exit setting disabled.

Same issue - comes and goes. Latest infortainment Update helped - then went back to same. Service Tech looked at me like I was crazy when I described the issue to him.

Last regular service they said they couldn’t troubleshoot anything due to being backed up with so many technical issues.

Like Pinebaron said - save settings in 1 and 2. I am using exit feature again - inflate is random now.

All seems tied to Google Built In programming which controls most things. Same reason I don’t have an Android Phone.

Exit setting resets lumbar; I made sure my seats are positioned perfect for driving and exiting without Exit Setting.
Be aware, you may need to reprogram lumber and save seat positions again following a battery disconnect or dealer software update. Lumbar continues to behave.

Not an apples to apples comparison with an Android phone. The processor and ram are miniscule in these trucks electronics systems compared to a good Android phone. Sure, you can be using a 5 year old mid to low grade Android phone and it will be slowish. I mean my mom was using a 5 yr old lower level (when new) LG Android phone until May of this year. Now she has an S24+ and the difference is night and day. Processor/RAM matter.

As far as what Android OS is actually running in our trucks - IDK that (I could probably goole it). But the issue is probably 90% or more that GM went cheap on the processor/RAM the truck uses to run whatever OS is loaded. And it could be that they went cheap on the level of Android OS, also, don't know that either.

The stuff that uses Android in my 23 AT4X that I use - like google maps - is slowish. But it works. Settings and the like on the display are OK to use, don't have a lag issue there. I use an Android based carplay device for a lot of things in the truck though. It is not even 2 years old, and uses older processor/RAM and is slowish, but it works. I shows up as an actual Android phone that I can download any app I want from the playstore.
