AT4X Heads up display part number

Just curious why aren’t they replacing it under warranty? It’s their job to find the part
That’s what is so frustrating. They ran diagnostics and said it needed to be replaced. So I left it with them for 8 days and when I went to pick it up they never touched it and they said part never arrived. Then I found out they never even ordered the part. So then I went to the parts department desk directly and said I want the part ordered. He couldn’t find part in system and brought another guy to desk and said he couldn’t find the part. They said they’d call me later that day with an update. Never called me and I spoke with gm rep telling them screw the dealership I’ll do it my self and I just need the part number. Gm rep and dealership talked for over a month, giving me weekly updates that they were still working with dealership to get part ordered, and then a couple weeks ago the gm rep said it’s best I just talk to dealership directly. I told the rep they wasted my time for a month and that I tried to work with the dealership directly but they failed to give me any info. Both gm rep and dealership seem to be unable to admit they don’t know the part number. So I’ve tried searching on my own and I can’t find anything either. I’m not sure if it’s the same unit that’s in the previous years or what. I can’t get any info anywhere. Super frustrating.

That sounds insane!! Is there some functionality that’s not on the regular HUD like the one in mine? I can’t imagine it’s different than all the rest. Where are you? That sounds like a complete nightmare

I’m in west Michigan. It’s the 15 inch color hud. It will work for an hour or so then the image gets very distorted then goes out. I’ll will come back on randomly. Part of me is wondering if there’s a power issue as a whole in the truck. It could be a coincidence but I have a dash cam that has to be reset every once in a while as if the battery is too low, and then I have an aftermarket subwoofer under rear seat that the subwoofer kicks on after a second of the song playing. Everything else on the truck works great. Love the truck. Just these little nuances that are driving me crazy. With the lack of info on this truck, I feel like I don’t have an outlet to even ask questions. I have the sub and dash cam installed the exact same way I did in my 2018 Silverado.

Who put the sub in? Any chance they hit some wire(s) they didn't intend to / shouldn't have? Messed up the ground somewhere?

I installed subwoofer and amp. I’ve installed many subs. I don’t believe the hud is due to subwoofer install as the hud had issues the second day I bought truck with 8 miles on it. I didn’t install sub until a month later

The HUD listed on the order for my truck is multi-color 15” diagonal display. I just have a hard time imagining the one in the AT4X would be any different. Can they not even find the part number without specifying AT4X ? It just seems crazy there are hundreds of thousands of these by now.

Any time I asked, they couldn’t give me an answer. That’s what was so frustrating. They wouldn’t say they can’t find part number. They would say they are trying to find the part and would call me once they have it. Both gm and dealership would say that for over a month until I have up on the both of them. I’m not sure if it’s area dependent but the at4x is extremely rare in west Michigan, I’ve seen more Ferrari’s than the at4x’s. (I’ve seen 2 Ferrari’s and 0 at4x’s since I bought it a few months ago) lol That’s the other frustrating part of all this is there aren’t many of them out there so there’s not a large group on the forums that can discuss issues specific to the model. There are more differences with the at4x than people realize

I'm almost certain it will be the same HUD but based on your original post I thought you were saying they didn't know the part number. Not being able to physically GET the part is totally different and very possible in the current supply chain issues. I had to wait 10 days for a NOX catalyst on my buyback truck and that took us escalating to dealers across the state to find one someone already had. The parts supply issues are very significant at this time and if that's the issue - I'm betting that it's real and they simply can't actually get the part. You won't be able to get it if they can't.

They never clarified if they couldn’t find the part physically because it was unavailable or if they couldn’t find the part number. In one of my posts on this thread I mentioned it was as if they were unable to admit they couldn’t find the part number or something because they wouldn’t tell me either way. Gm rep and dealership would just keep telling me they were talking to each other and this person would call me. After probably 8 times of them telling me someone would call and they didn’t call, I gave up. Especially after the dealership said they ordered the part and then the parts desk said it was never ordered

Any other dealers near enough to try ? It sounds like a nightmare honestly but I'm betting it's just the part is not available and sadly you will be the one who has to stay on them to eventually get it.
