Has anyone ever taken apart their front grill on a refreshed Sierra? I can tell the finished grill pieces are just clipped in and see some of the clips on mine are not fully clipped into the back black plastic. I want to know how to remove these pieces and if there is a tool that would help?. Anyone with info would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to take all the dark chrome pieces off and customize them.
Secondly, has anyone removed the entire front grill from one of these trucks yet? I think you have to remove the top part of the front bumper to remove the grill and I’m not sure how comfortable I am doing that and not break any clips.
Thanks in advance.

The clips that hold the grill to the upper bumper are extremely fragile . I already broke several when trying to get new black AT4X emblem on the front .

you are right though , you have to unfasten the upper bumper piece to get access to behind the grill and release it from the clips (I skipped this step and thus why I broke the clips).

I took the top piece off and had my dealer spray it gloss black. I thought the Vader chrome looked washed out on it but I'm fine with the other pieces. I had to take the top cover off with all the push pin clips and the hood release latch. I think there were also a couple screws on each side then it was time for those clips. I broke a couple but was able to super glue them back together. Start at the ends first and just give a good tug on it. I'm pretty sure the other chrome pieces are just clipped in. I used a folded microfiber towel and just smacked it with the palm of my hand for reassembly.

Mine was also not 100% together so I squeezed and gave a hard nudge with a micro fiber towel in hand and popped it back to where it should be. I didn't bother to take anything apart and mine may not have been as separated where yours is so YMMV.

What is the best way to remove that top grill piece safely? Looks good black!
