I know a lot of new vehicles now come with automatic recording capability of all the cameras that are around the vehicle. My friend has the 2024 tundra and it has the same. I want a dash cam for my AT4 but it seems senseless that I have so many cameras around my truck now but none of them will record to a memory card. I’m forced to purchase another camera with recording capability. Does anyone know of any solutions for this coming down the road? TIA

thanks, but this appears to be another camera I have to add. What I’m hoping to find is a dash cam solution that will incorporate all of my cameras on my truck now and simply record the video as you would expect from a dash cam to a memory device.

Welcome!

It would be a great feature, especially since the hardware is there. But I’ve seen multiple people ask and so far no one is able to do this using the factory equipment.

Nothing coming down the road, these tow cameras have been on these trucks for a long time and no one has bothered trying yet. Spend the $300-400 on a good HD cam and be done with it, they are easy to install. I did front and rear Black Vue cams yesterday and it took 45 minutes.

I have BlackVue Cam: Check my signature for details.

Although not for everyone, dashcam model, features, backup parking mode batteries, Sim Card and suitable data plan (from your phone provider), Cloud subsription for live upload and life remote camera views (front and rear) all add up to cost. I have no regrests. BlackBoxMyCar of Vancouver BC did the install; they are only 45 minutes away across the border.

Buy the FitCamX and don’t look back. Amazing.

I have one from a company like this one that has the camera built into the rearview mirror shroud and its really nice. I like it you barely see it. Looks factory.

I think if it was remotely possible a company like WAMS would have hacked the BCM by now. Im guessing it’s very difficult or there may be legal issues with hacking the system.

Even if possible, recording quality would be far inferior to a decent dash cam. I'm not sure what the Tundra or Teslas have for dash cam recording resolution. My dashcam records so clear in 4k day or night.

My biggest issue with the Fitcamx is that it doesn't tra k location or speed. If it had those features I would have it installed already lol

I have an Escort M2 hardwired off my mirror. It records in 4K and can store images on microSD cards up to 128G. It stores them in the cloud if needed for future needs. I uses the data off your phone for location/speed when writing the files. If you have a radar dectector there it will power that and can attach to any mount.

BlackVue does it all; additional cost for sim card/data line plus $3.99/month for BlackVue Cloud Lite plan still apply.
