Hello everyone, I currently own a 2022 Toyota Tundra and have been a Toyota guy for many years. I just ordered a 2024 AT4 Duramax 3500 today and now get to play the waiting game. Last HD truck I had was a 2005 Chevy 2500 Duramax (pre DEF era) so I'm a little anxious about the emission problems I've read about in all modern diesels. I'm also super excited about this AT4. I've always like the styling of GMC trucks the most.
I have a 33ft travel trailer that my wife loves to stuff to its max capacity (approx. 8,500lbs?) LoL The Tundra had plenty of pulling power, but I believe there is only so much a half ton truck can safely do, like payload and stopping. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time due to the $$$ shock. Man trucks have gotten expensive!

Like you, I am waiting to take delivery of a '24 3500 AT4. I have a 22' Low Boy trailer (3.2K lbs. + 5K Jeep) and 43' Sundowner Trailer (10.2K lbs. empty + 5K Jeep) that I currently haul with a 2018 Chevy 2500HD Duramax and no issues and plenty of power. This version of the L5P is even more powerful, so you'll be fine towing wise. Of note, I had to promise my left testicle to my wife that I'd keep this truck for 10 years due to the cost of the truck.

I ordered my '24 3500 AT4 in early May and picked it up last Friday. I am happy to be back in a diesel and I am sure you'll love your truck.

Go to GMC.COM, there is a inventory search on it. Can search entire country, if willing to travel some, may find one sittin on a lot just like you want. Has worked twice for me. Good Luck

That's what I did, but found one "in-transit". Just need it shipped from Flint to the dealership (674 miles from my house).

Congratulations on your new 2024 AT4 Duramax 3500! Transitioning from your Toyota Tundra to a GMC AT4 is a big step, especially with your experience and preference for GMC Fc truck styling. With your 33ft travel trailer, it sounds like you're prepared for some serious towing capacity, which the Duramax engine and heavy-duty chassis will handle well. Concerns about modern diesel emissions are valid, but advancements in technology have made them more efficient and reliable over recent years. Enjoy the anticipation of your new truck—it sounds like it'll serve you well for many adventures ahead!

Welcome to the forum and congratulations.

You guys do realize the OP was a one and done member and we haven't heard from him in almost a year, right?

Maybe your mojo's will help bring him back!

@philljones22 how are your diesels equipped over there? Do you have a dpf from factory? How about def or egr? Sure would like to clone your ecm.

You’re lucky. I’m pretty sure my wife took both my testicles a long time ago. 😂
