Apple CarPlay issues Help

I’m having issues with my Apple CarPlay. Sometimes I get in and connects sometimes it doesn’t connect. It’s the icon is greyed out. I reboot the stereo comes back on OK and then it may not the next time I get in the truck anyone else have the issues or any ideas, thank you

Might try a hard reset of your phone.

Also, I’ve had luck cycling airplane mode on and off as well as cycling Bluetooth off and on.

This seems to work best for me both in the AT4 and my F150. Stupid CarPlay.

I have issues only if my phone is connected as a trusted device.

If its hard wired and not BT trusted APPLE cords are best. Unfortunately connectivity problems occur with non APPLE cords I have found . I also never use BT I personally dislike it and find it unreliable.

I finally found the issue with intermittent CarPlay connection and it has to do with Google/GMC
What’s happening is trusted device/profile lock enabled CarPlay will fight for activation and fail due to time constraints! I’ve had no issues for 6 months CarPlay works even when I remote start the vehicle.

1. Delete trusted devices
2. Delete any profile lock.
3. Reboot system:
Car is running, hold the mute button until you hear a click.
Then turn the vehicle off open then shut the door while remaining in the vehicle.
Important wait for all dashboard/vehicle lights to go out then start vehicle and reboot is complete.

If you don’t wait until the system properly shuts down then it will reboot but the infotainment system will still have residual power and not properly reset.

If I do the following will it make my 2024 GMC Canyon AT4 CarPlay work being wired instead of just wirelessly? I can’t seem to figure out how to make it work just wired!! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also my email is [email protected] if someone can send me instructions please
