Anyone having lifter issues?

I haven't yet thankfully. But my buddy who's got a 2019 Yukon Denali with the 6.2L just had his truck towed yesterday. They told him lifter spring on cyl #5, and told him it would take a couple weeks to get the parts and get the time to do it. He's not thrilled. I see lifter complaints online but I wasn't sure just how common it is?

Melling responded to the issue publicly and has stated their lifters are not bad, they have found it to be an oil pressure issue with the timing of the AFM in the 5.3 and 6.2. Good read... until GM admits the problem, potential recall, they'll keep blaming the lifters.

I have a 2021 AT4 with 6.2L. 8800 miles - lifter bang and hesitation just started today...

I’ve owned 5 different GM trucks of various years with the 5.3 I think every one of them the lifters would rattle sometimes when first started. I guess it’s just a common issue with those engines.

Any chance someone has ditched the crappy springy ones and replaced them with real lifters? Like Morels, Johnsons, etc? Probably wishful thinking this early on in an engines life cycle.
