Good morning folks! I recently took my truck to the dealer for a software update (about two months ago). Not sure what was updated, but so far no issues. This past Saturday I received a letter from GM that had "Safety Recall Notice" printed on the envelope. I opened it and inside was another letter stating I needed to take the truck back in for ANOTHER software update. However, the letter doesn't state what the update is or the latest software version they are going to install.

Any ides from the group? I couldn't find any info on the GM site.

Cheers! Tim

Or use onstar app to check your vin against recalls.

I dropped my truck off at the dealership for an oil change. Service guy told me they are also doing a software update for auto start something around those lines. I’ll get more of a clear picture of it when I got pick it up.

Mine went back to the shop yesterday for audio issues and a driver seat issue that they ordered a part for. Haven't gotten it back yet but the advisor told me yesterday that GM is aware of the audio issues (sound cutting out) but obviously does not have a fix yet. This is supposedly on a bulletin they published and I'll get a copy when I pick it up.

Thanks guys! I looked at my OnStar app and it shows I'm up to date on all recalls and software updates, so I am at a loss as to what this latest letter is referring to. I suspect you may be correct...the letter came after the latest update. Nonetheless, I will call the dealership and see what they have to say. I sure wish there was a resource that could tell us what the most up-to-date software revision/update we are suppose to have.

I got the same thing. Had the dealer do the update and an oil change (took an entire week, but that's another story). Then this morning got a letter saying I nee3ded to take I in. I believe it is for the same issue.

I think this may have have posted before but here is the bulletin regarding intermittent audio.

Wonder how long this will take?! Excerpt from page 2...

Confirmed with the dealership that my truck was updated correctly and that letter I received was referring to that update in reference to the Serial Gateway Data Module.

Everything on my rig was working as expected so I have been putting off the current update.

I guess it is my turn now as four low failed me today. Right at the end of an obstacle it switched from four low to four high and the lockers dropped out. Thankfully it kept running and driving forward in four high and that electronic limited slip worked as designed and I got through that obstacle but I was forced to take every bypass on the way out of the forest after that. Then when I reached the trailhead it would not shift out of four high until I shut it down and rested my bones for about 10 minutes. When I restarted the rig it shifted into two high when requested ...
The trail is nearly 2 hours away from home and if I had been at the beginning of that last obstacle I may not of made it out without help.
