i noticed i got the 170 amp alt/gen (didn't realize there was an option)
if i was to want a 220, would it be as simple as changing out?
or are there other considerations

Back in the Si days, you sure could.

Now, I wouldn't guarantee it. The ECM controls the amperage output, not a internal or external regulator. So, would it do any good having a alternator that could produce more amperage.
