Checking to see if you all knew of an option to add lights (BD LP6's) to an AEV front bumper? I really like the AEV bumper and front grill of the AT4X and curious what options to mount 2-4 LP6's.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I just checked as I want to mount my pod rough country lights in the front bumper, but there is a mount for the bumper in the way and just leaves a shallow hole leaving no room to recess the light into the bumper.Checking to see if you all knew of an option to add lights (BD LP6's) to an AEV front bumper? The panels are held in pretty good, but the are not difficult to remove. My only issue is that it a pretty shallow area behind the panels. Mounting a light to them may not be the most sturdy. Vibration and other stuff with the added weight may jar them loose. Let my know how it's goes. I opted to go with ditch light mounts.I texted with a friend of mine who is a director at AEV and he said that they are working on a low hoop bar for the HD models and will eventually likely have a version for our light duty trucks, but he had zero time frame to mention. Please keep us all posted if you find anything.
In the meantime, I'm thinking of mounting a set of Baja Design S2 SAE amber fogs to that AEV cover. Is it held in place securely enought to use it as a light mount? The bracket on these can swing all the way to the way to the rear of the pod to be mounted on a verticle surface. Will this work, do you think? Thanks.
I ordered the S2s yesterday. If there is any chance the AEV covers will vibrate loose, I won’t do it. But I think from a sizing perspective, the S2s may work well in that spot. Rigid makes a flush mount light they call the Ignite, but it’s not SAE/DOT approved (no horizontal cutoff). Anyway, I may use the ditch light location for supplemental high beam lights; I have AEVs 7000 lights on my Jeep JL brush guard (aka Light Cannons), but they’re so big that I think they may look ridiculous on the ditch light mounts. Those may have to wait for AEV to release a low hoop bracket. There’s the guy who put the light bar in his grill, but until someone else makes the brackets available for that, that’s above my fabrication pay grade, ha.The panels are held in pretty good, but the are not difficult to remove. Which ditch light mounts did you go with, and are they sturdy enough for a half way heavy light? Would Baja LP6s be too big for them?

Different topic: I’ve never owned Baja Designs LP models. I didn’t realize that they had a “low beam” and a “high beam” that you cannot run together. What is their model that is designed for driving/spot only? Thanks.Checking to see if you all knew of an option to add lights (BD LP6's) to an AEV front bumper? Me too. Ridiculously expensive for what they are, but well made in the USA and no negative reviews.I went with the SDHQ ditch light mounts.

Installed, was a bit of work, but man are the rock solid. I like them better then the hood mounted ones. Just ordered new lights however as these ones are beat up. They were on my last truck. New lights should be here Friday.Me too. Ridiculously expensive for what they are, but well made in the USA and no negative reviews.
John: Can you please tell me exactly how to get them off? The Baja S2a came in, and if I can securing mount them, I think they'll be perfect in this spot. I'll post some trial pics of what they may look like if anyone else is interested. The panels are held in pretty good, but the are not difficult to remove. How to get what off, the molding that needs to be removed to get to the bolts? If so, they just pull off, and as secured with clips. Or the front bumper panels? those are also just held on with clips and you can use a trim removal tool to pull those off. They come off fairly easy.John: Can you please tell me exactly how to get them off? The Baja S2a came in, and if I can securing mount them, I think they'll be perfect in this spot. Yes, the panels is what I was talking about. I’m headed out right now to try it, and just found this reply.
