Someone decided they needed to make a left turn because they were in a hurry to get to the dispensary. I believe she was high because she asked where I came from. Kind of hard to miss my truck with headlights and fog lights on. We had witnesses saying she was driving sporadically, just before. I swerved to go around her but a car was coming in the other direction so I had to turn back into her. It has been 3 weeks parts are 3 weeks out, according to my dealer whom I am using as the body shop. No frame damage which is a great thing.

Dealer said I was lucky it was not the door. He said last door , took 4 months for him to get , and he said he lucked out. Apparently doors are on back order.

Damn man! That really sucks!

Hopefully you get it fixed up quick and backlogs don't impact you too much.

did the forward collision alert go off and brake? Just curious because I am starting to come skeptical of mine as it has NEVER gone off. The camera seems to detect the car in front of me and i've even turned the sensitivity down one notch.

No way to really test it!

What isn't on backorder with GM these days? Sure seems like they are not overly concerned about customer service and satisfaction enough.... I realize Covid changed supply, but a lot of that was 3 years ago. Seems like a convenient excuse for blowing off customers paying a LOT of hard earned $ for their trucks.

As a contractor, I realize materials/etc take longer to get now most of the time, and cost more. But it seems GM parts are behind even other things in other industries as far as keeping up with demand. If someones high dollar truck has issues while under warranty, the customer should not be slow-played. Period. Shouldn't be slow-played ever, actually.

No it didn’t go off. But I think it’s because I hit the brakes and swerved as soon as I noticed what was happening. I have had alert go off in the past. Someone suddenly stopped in front of me because a homeless person ran out in front of him.

I agree. I spoke with a manager at the dealership and he said apparently GM learned from COVID about its dependency on China. Apparently they are opening more plants for parts in US and Mexico. So how true that is I'm not sure

I had a similar thing happen to me back in early Janurary. I waiting 2 months for a replacement front grille that was on backorder, I finally got so sick of waiting that I ordered a used one off of a parted out Sierra on Ebay. Finally just got my truck back last week and my shop said the grilles were still on backorder...

Sorry that had to happen. thing that really stinks is you will have aftermarket parts and a CARFAX report. you can't win

Hopefully I won’t have to wait another month but we will see.

Yesterday I just returned from my trip in Kentucky and Tennessee and today received a phone call my truck was finished. It turned out really good.
