My 2022 model 6.2L engine locked up with 20,000 miles and 15 months old. I had it towed to the dealer. The service dept said the engine is locked up and will be replaced all under warranty. I am frustrated that I am not getting any answers on why the engine failed and no answers on what will be different with the new engine. I have had zero issues with the truck and had no warnings of any issues when this happened. Are any others out there experiencing this same issue?

Just bought a used 2022 chevy highlander with 6.2 engine. Seized up on me at about 23000 miles. You're not alone.

They may not have done a tear down yet to find the root cause. Perhaps let them know you would like to know what it was when they find out.

I have always suspected the AFM is causing that, depending on driving habits. Quite possibly good driving habits, that make AFM active more. I took a thermal dynamic class years ago and what I leaned in that, I don’t understand how an AFM system could work without causing expansion and contraction variation problems. Basically, with half the cylinders firing, things aren’t the same size and won’t fit right. That’s just my theory. I don’t know if there is anything to it. I also read in a forum somewhere (maybe here), a similar theory that makes sense, so I’m not the only one that came up with that.
