5th wheel provisioning

While prospecting for my future truck I've noticed some at Dealers without the 5th wheel option. When installed, is this done at the factory or dealer?
If one buys a truck without it and later decides to add it how big of a project is it?
Sorry for my rookie questions; never had a truck with one in it.

It can be ordered from the manufacturer and my guess is that's your best bet. I think it's only $500.00. Installed later and theirs's the hole layout and installation of the under bed receiver. Got to cost more than the cost from GMC. Not to mention the spray on bed liner would be more complete from the dealer.

worth having even if you never need it . resale value alone is worth it,keeps the bed clean when not in use too
