3.0 Duramax Fuel Filter Change

It’s easy. A few how to videoes online show step by step. Don’t waste your money at the stealership, but document the service.

The fuel filter due on my 3.0 duramax and the stealership wants to charge $240 + tax! Probably the craziest charge I have ever seen for a 15 minute job… Has anyone done this job themselves? Is it actually as straight forward as it looks? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
l haven’t changed mine yet but on last oil change , napa didn’t have fuel f , he said that Chevy around the corner had it , for $60 something, said I’ll pass , got napa to order for half the price. Haven’t changed yet but like the previous post, they do have some videos on you tube , not hard at all . I did read some where that even in the low teen % he wish he would have waited to change because it wasn’t that dirty, but I guess under different circumstances on the fuel you use .

I have done mine twice now. It's super easy. The filter is underframe between driver and rear door. You need a 36mm socket, and a torque wrench. I think the cover needs to be tighten to 35nm, (please check to be sure). I attached a video of someone showing how easy it is.

Yup. All done. Super easy. Thanks for the advice! Crazy to think the dealer charges $240 CAD+ for a 15 minute job!
