2500 AT4 Color Choice

If you are even considering Volcanic Red, go see one.

I was in your shoes last March, but I had to decide whether to get my truck in a couple months or wait until Aug-Nov to get Thunderstorm since they didn't release that color right away. Part of me regrets not waiting, but I think white still looks so good on the AT4. Also, in my area anyway, I feel like I'm seeing more Thunderstorm AT4s than Summit White.

Can't go wrong either way!

I was on the same fence. I’ve been buying white trucks for many years, because I like the clean look, they’re cooler in summer, they don’t show dirt or minor scratches, and they’re easier to repair successfully if they get dinged. This time I eventually went with thunderstorm. No regrets, even when I see a nicely accessorized white truck. I think I would have had regrets if I’d made the other choice.

Until a couple years ago, with the exception of Navy jeeps on or near military bases, I had never seen cars or trucks painted battleship-gray. Over the last three years I’ve seen the color appear on almost everything… Toyotas, Hondas, Jeeps, Hyundais, Acuras, GMCs, and others. Battleship-gray vehicles are as thick as fleas these days.

I agree with Buck Wallace. Can’t go wrong with either!

I really like the thunderstorm gray. I looked at it a lot but I still went with the sterling metallic I like it better. Can’t go wrong with either color.

I’m always a fan of black cars but also love the sterling metallic.

The sterling metallic is a nice color. Hard to tell if it’s silver or more beige?

I think black looks fantastic when it’s clean and polished. Hard to beat. Unfortunately, where I live I’d have to wash the truck two or three times per week to maintain that look, because the air is always carrying something — road grime, pollen, ash, desert dust, etc… . Life is short. I don’t want to spend that much time washing my truck.

Thirty years ago I had a beautiful dark green metallic F350. After one hunting trip I had a dozen stripes down the sides from sagebrush and little tree limbs scraping on trails. That required a trip to a capable detailer and a few hundred bucks to polish out. Even then, a few of the scrapes were still visible in the right light if you knew where to look. That was my last dark truck.

Unless you like washing, do not do black!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And minor brush scratches show up like crazy.

I owned a 2018 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate in " White Frost Tricoat " metalic. A gorgeous color that was quite easy to maintain and never looked dirty unless after a snow storm. Owned a 1998 Sierra 1500 extended cab Z71 in Onyx black....never again. You'd finish washing waxing, detailing....go in the house to grab a beer and there'd be a coating of dust on it...😞
The Volcanic Red Tint Coat is stunning, don't see too many up in my area...Ontario, Canada...lots of black and white.
Have seen a few Thunderstorm Grey trucks up here, still not sure about it....would have to grow on me. Like the other person said, every manufacturer has some kind of " Thunderstorm Grey " with there own version of name...
Good luck...(y)

Thunderstorm gray reminds me of wet primer. Remember many a vehicle rolling around in primer years ago. They make the best sleepers along with their hub caps.

I originally wanted a Thunderstorm Grey but got a white HD instead and after 4 months I’m thrilled because I live in Texas. Happy to attract as little extra rays as possible. I think I do see more grey AT4s and more white Denalis in my city. So I’m happy to add a white AT4 in the mix. Just my 2 cents.
