24 at4 3500 wheel and tire selection

I’m new I tried a thread but not sure what I’m doing!!!
I am wanting to go to a 17 in wheel but what offset should I go and tire size I want to beef it up a bit but I don’t want to lift it any advice
Or should I just keep the 20s and run 285s
I just want to go more custom thanks
