Good morning all!
New to the forum here but not new to GM products.
Background, started with new 2000 GMC 1500 Z71 Extra Cab, That got totaled in 2005 and bought my brothers 2004.5 Silverado 2500 HD Duramax (He decided he wanted the H2...big mistake on his part) LOL. Sold that in 2018 and bought the new L5P Duramax, Z71. Had a ton if issues with that from day 1 and after it going through the Lemon Law process, I got all my money back in March 2023 $77K. So I ordered the new 2024 GMC AT4 in April and took delivery of it in June...ditched the Duramax and went with the 6.6 Gas/Allison 10spd combo.
My trailer loaded is maybe 5K lbs so I don't need the Diesel. Plus all the electronics, DEF, maintenance, $10k price tag for the motor...it just didn't make sense.
I have 8K miles on this thing and I am loving it. I have simplified things in a way. I'm averaging 3-4 MPG less than my diesel but even if I spend $100 more a month on fuel, it would take me over 8 years just recoup the cost of the motor. That's not including the higher price of diesel fuel, DEF fluid and just over all maintenance.
Pic of the ride, just done a few touches. Blacked out the emblems and tinted the windows!
For those that have the AT4, how bada$$ is this interior?? It's awesome!
