2023 AT4

I would suspect your truck sat for a month or more and the battery was drained when it got to the dealership, rather than charge it up they probably gave it a boost and ran it enough for you to pick it up.
Keep an eye on the battery because it may be damaged by being drained to a very low level, if it runs well now keep and eye on it towards fall it may be a warranty item by then.
Something you can try is remove the negative battery terminal for a while (at least 10 min) and see if your error codes reset they may have set as a result of the nearly dead battery. JMO

I had my 2023 AT4 for less than 12 hrs and battery dead. I drove it home from dealership yesterday afternoon and this morning when I went to start I had multiple error codes and lights and it would not start. I checked the battery with my battery charger and it was only showing 25 percent full. Has anyone had battery drain issue or bad battery from new?
Check your battery terminal, my ground side was super loose on a brand new 23 at4 when I checked it.....

So this seems to be happening a lot. Once the you take delivery the system seems to be doing a large software update and simply drains the battery down. Then acts super funky with all kinds of codes but once battery is fully charged they seem to be fine. Super inconvenient though. I have a 2023 Tahoe Z71 and a 2023 Denali. Both did the exact same thing within a week of purchase. My above explanation is what the dealer explained to me, apparently very common. My tahoe was first, I took it to the dealer, when the denali happened I just hooked it to the battery tender for a few days and all was well. We don't drive the denali much so it wasn't too bad.

My concern is travel, the last thing I want to do is come back to it in an airport parking lot after being gone for a week and the battery be dead due to a software update.

I am not sure that the OTA software updates happen without your permission but a couple of weeks with no driving may drain the battery enough so that it doesn't start.

I keep one of those lithium ion battery jump packs in my truck for occasions like this. On my 2020 AT4, it used to completely drain the battery overnight about 4 times a month for a while. Like completely dead. Since it was a 3.0 diesel, I think it needed a bit more power to crank it over (glow plugs?), and the battery pack I bought was just barely large enough to get it to start. I was stranded a couple times needing a jump before I bought the battery jump pack. I think I got it on Amazon.

After maybe 9 months and a couple trips to the dealer to diagnose, it quit happening. The dealer was able to confirm it had something draining the battery while it sat overnight with their meter, but could never figure out what was doing it. Never had this problem (knock on wood) with my 2023 AT4X that I have had about 3 months now.

My truck had a hard time starting at the dealership when I picked it up, truck was a pre order and sat waiting for chips in Mexico for 8 months. Trip home from the dealership was around 9 hours first stop for something to eat it took 3 attempts before it started again. Left it running at fuel stops after that, when I got home all was good and haven't had any battery problems in 3k miles.
