I got a letter in the mail from GMC last week indicating there is a potential issue and GM will cover it (if it occurs up to 15 years or 150k miles, or reimburse if you had this happen). Fast forward to Saturday, my check engine light goes on, get a message reduce acceleration drive with care. I checked my GM app and it said a coolant problem. Sunday Im trying carefully, I get a message, idle engine, overheating. Had to pull over and park it for a few hours. Brought it to the dealership this morning and they said there is a bulletin on my vehicle. I asked if its what I got the letter last week for and they said yes.
Of course the part is on back order. They said they are getting a lot of these with the weather starting to change (in North Texas) Last one took 2 weeks to get in.
