Today my infotainment screen quit working. Vehicle is 30 days old tomorrow and has 1900 miles on it. We drove to breakfast this morning and everything worked fine as it has since day 1. After breakfast we get into the truck to leave. I notice the welcome screen on the digital gauge cluster is displaying the normal welcome graphics but the 13.4" touch screen is dead, no power, just a black display. No response to power button and home button manipulations. I tried a reset cheat code I read about online by holding down the "hang-up phone call" button on the steering wheel for 10 seconds with no success. I disconnected the battery for about 10 minutes to see if this would reset the system, zero, zilch, nada. I'm fresh out of ideas so it looks like I will be taking it to the dealership on Monday to have them diagnose it.
My only concern is that I applied a screen protector from Screen Protech which includes a water based solution to install the screen protector, much like tint is applied to a window. The instructions require applying a liberal amount of the water based solution to the backside (adhesive side) of the screen protector, then apply it to the screen, center it, and squeegee out the bubbles and excess water solution with the supplied squeegee. A small amount of water runs down the bottom of the screen and is absorbed mostly by the microfiber cloth placed under the screen. I'm hoping moisture did not get into the screen during installation and cause this issue. I doubt this is the case since there seem to be numerous reports of the infotainment screens going out. I have not been able to find any service bulletins on the issue published online.
If anyone with experience on this issue could provide any insight or advice before I take it to the dealership, I would greatly appreciate it.
