Hey All - Wondering if anyone has been able to find a switched ignition source on the new 1500 refresh. I checked both the cabin driver and passenger side fuse boxes, and it seems everything is straight battery connected. I can't find anything that only has power when the truck is on. A couple people in a facebook group posted a photo of moving the 50 amp JCASE fuse in the passenger side fuse box from one blade to another (one is constant 12V and the other is switched 12V) to change the behavior of the accessory ports. But looking in my fuse box, the location where the second blade would be, it's empty. Appears to be a printed circuit board inside, and none of the extra spaces have pins that are populated. I've got some accessories that are triggered by the accessory wire turning on, and then shutting down when the truck turns off to prevent battery drain.

A little resurrection here… has anyone figured out an auxiliary power source? I’ve seen the posts relocating the 50A fuse in the passenger side fuse panel, but I don’t have an extra male spade in that location either

That is only for the lucky ones with the 12v cigarette lighter outlet. 22 refreshes don't have that option. No outlet...no wiring to power it.

Yea. Need to figure something out though. There has got to be a switched power source.

Look under the dash on the driver side for this connector. My info here is for the refresh. It’s for adding a brake controller..maybe yours has it, maybe not since im guessing it has the integrated controller.

In that connector might be battery, accessory, and ignition taps. Take a peek at the harness side to see which wires exist. The harness from the amazon link could be repinned as needed if everything is there. I suspect the red wire is in pin 5 for the brake signal. Just remove the red lock tab then release the internal tab holding the red wire terminal in place. Move it to ignition (pin 13) to trigger your device/relay. There is a battery feed (pin 7) and accessory (pin 7) as well as ground (pin 1). I would remove the blue wire or repurpose it for an accessory feed.

Poke a camera under the dash, locate that plug if there and remove the dummy plug which will expose the terminals. Interested in what all cavities are populated on yours.

Huh, it will be interesting to see what you find. That connector looked familiar. It's what the upfitter switches wiring harness plugs into.

Then I read your attched X213 auxiliary wiring harness document. Sure enough, there it was... 9L7.

This is what I’m looking at. Put a meter on everything, with my truck running and off. Nothing. I may have to figure out where to install some fuses to get those pins energized.

It would be expensive, but you could install the gm upfitter switch kit (option code 9L7). Then you would have 4 possibly 5 (depending on if you stole the roof becon circuit wire) keyed or battery powered buttons.

I really wanted the upfitters. When I looked a while back, GM hadn’t released the switches for the refresh and I was trying to figure out if I could cut the switch bank in from the 19-2022 and sort the wiring out. Then I was gifted an AuxBeam and WeBoost, so I just went with it. Already drilled the dash, so no turning back.

Now, I just need to find aux power and fill up the panel. I’m currently on with the headlight/fog light switch.

As time allows, reverse lights, ditch lights, bed lights(under tonneau), compressor and 2000w inverter. Maybe a light bar in the grill and something else for the last button.

so frustrating how difficult GM makes simple upgrades like this. Ford and Jeep make it so much easier.

I needed power for my Rove dashcam. I went through every fuse on both sides of the dash....nothing ignition only powered. :(

I gave up and went to the fuse box under the hood. I used a tap a fuse and ran a single wire back through the fender, across the hidden part of the "A" pillar (behind door) and drilled a small hole behind the rubber door trim and ran the wire into the interior, right into the passenger fuse bay. My truck is white and the wire I ran is white. I used some white tape to cover the 8" of exposed wire on the exterior of the "A" pillar behind the door. You can only see it when you open the passenger door.

Must be different in 1500. On my 2500HD, my dashcam installer, BlackBoxMyCar, wired the dashcam to an ignition linked fuse in the passenger side fuse box. I have backup batteries to continue powering the dashcam in parking mode.
