Been a long but mostly smooth process but I finally took delivery of my 2022 GMC 1500 AT4 3.0 Duramax Turbo Diesel on 6-21-22. Here’s how it went.
I started shopping for a 2022 AT4 Diesel in December of 2021. I had never owned a GM truck product and never really liked them. Once I sat in an AT4 my perception changed. At the time I did not know about the refresh and almost bought the “limited” Carbon Pro model before it was branded as limited. Lucky for me the two dealerships close to me were hell bent on charging a $10,000- mark up over the sticker for “market adjustment” and refused to come off that number (Moss Bros. Buick GMC in Moreno Valley and Dutton Buick GMC in Riverside). I was patient because I wanted a new truck but I didn’t need one.
While online shopping a bit further I discovered the refresh information. The new interior design looked awesome, so I looked into custom ordering one. Sooooo glad I didn’t settle for a limited one. I found a dealer about 50 miles away in Pasadena, Ca. and started working with Freddy Boutros from Thorson Buick GMC. Thorson was only charging $2,500- over sticker for their market adjustment. I could live with that, so I decided to build what I wanted. My build at the time (1-11-22) came out to $66,995- for a total of $69,495- when you factor in the dealership mark up.
