So I have a 2022 AT4 1500 & while towing my all aluminum 16x8 V-nose enclosed trailer at around 70 to 75 mph on fairly flat roads I'm only getting 6.9 to 7.5 miles per gallon! none towing I'm only getting 13. The truck only has 2600 miles, a leveling, SBD cold air, magna flow muffler & the tires went up in size by only 1/2" (from the stock 20" 33s to 20" 33.5s). I have re-adjusted the the speedo for the new tire size. I feel the mileage is complete crap but the rest of the truck I love. Coming from my old 2005 Duramax which I could pull the same load at 80 mph & get 12 mile per gallon which doesn't help my feelings any. I know this is not comparing apples to apples but that is what I've been driving since 2006 & I'm use to. Any insight would be helpful & if the mileage is this poor towing I may go back to a diesel. Also I do not tow all the time but randomly & it's for snowmobiling & or motocross.

It was just the computer calculated mileage. I topped the truck off before the trip & set trip meter 2 & monitor it. I need to actually hand calculate it on my next tow to verify.

Is that the 6.2L I assume?
My coworker has a Chevy rst 4x4 w 6.2L and he gets a little better than yours but his truck is all stock. He’s within a mile of you all around. He bought it for the speed of the 6.2l though.

I bought it for the 6.2 as well but my Duramax had 620 HP & around 1300 FTLB of torque so my 6.2 seems like a big turd LOL!

Potentially if you tune for the exhaust and intake, it may get better.
Hard to match a diesel in anyway when it comes to mileage.

For just the random times that you do tow, is it worth it to go to the diesel? What helped you make the decision to switch from your '06 diesel to a gasser?

I know I can't compare the 2 put that is what I was coming from. The truck was starting to nickle & dime me plus It was time for a new one. I need to verify the tire pressure on the trailer as well because that could be another issue as well.

Where you said “ none towing “ did you mean Not towing ? If your not towing and your only getting 13 then there is definitely problems.

Correct when I'm not towing it's 13 to 14 but it has less than 3000 miles on it still.
I have 2700 as of today , I’ve been averaging 18.8 every since I purchased it- hand calculated which matches the truck! I’ve driven it like I stole it, been in all sorts of highway conditions and still at 18 at 75. I’m pretty sure that’s what most of us 6.2’s are close to. In my personal opinion it’s not going to get much better than the 14 you are getting now. Something is wrong. 1/2” more of tire isn’t going to make very much more of a difference. Get her checked out Brother.

I agree. But I gotta be careful with the warranty BS as well, thanks.
You may want to rethink that cold air system also! Looks and sound don’t make it breath any better 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've got just under 2000 miles on my 2022 and I am getting about 16 in short trips around town and took 2 longer highway trips (3 hours and 8 hours) and got 18+. All based on the computer. Seems like something is up for you?

Just turned 1000 on the odometer and I struggle to get 14 mpg on the DIC, which so far is accurate to miles driven divided by gallons pumped. I drive 7 miles to work with 2 stop signs and a round about, with 55 mph speed limit. Current tank full I'm at 15.5 mpg, but I am accelerating while keeping rpm's under 2000, which is basically driving like I'm 90 years old. My first tank averaged 12.6, but I was heavy on the gas several times because you just can't help it. I'm not concerned yet but I'm keeping an eye on it.

I think with the city driving 14-15 would probably be close to what would be expected! This 6.2 is a hoss so our concrete right feet probably don’t help 🤣
