Hi All,
I am looking at a 2021 AT4 with the 3.0 Duramax, unless you all have a different suggestion. Currently I am towing my 2011 Outdoors RV Backcountry with a 2008 Ford F250 Super Duty. Problem is, the Ford is not a crew cab, and as the kids and dog(s) are getting bigger, they have less room. It's not my daily driver, but my son is getting his license and will be getting my car so I'm thinking up getting a new truck to replace the Ford. Long story short, I need some help.
Specs on the trailer....
Dry Weight - 6100
Max Trailer Weight - 7900lbs
Hitch Dry Weight - 710 lbs
We almost exclusively stay at campgrounds with full hook ups or a dump station, so we don't tow with any water or waste in the trailer. I would imagine we carry a couple hundred pounds of gear between the trailer and the bed of the truck (bikes, a little firewood, a firepit and a small blackstone grill). Two adults and 2 kids (500 lbs).
So basically, the question is, would the 2021 AT4 with the 3.0 Duramax be ok for pulling this type of trailer the 5-6 times a year we use it?
Any help is very much appreciated!
