To those who are wondering, the wait is over, our trucks can now go on the Trump weight loss program. My truck recently lost about 400 lbs and gained about 200 hp in muscle 👌🏻. I’m glad I was the guinea pig as I can give yall the best route to also lose weight and gain muscle for these 24+ L5P trucks. Feel free to message me with any questions and I’ll do my best to help those that are interested.

Did you go through hp tuners? What was the cost roughly for everything?

I did, as of right now, HP Tuners is the only option to unlock the ECM. Total cost was roughly $5200 not including labor. In my cost, includes the 5 separate tunes, which was an additional $200 I think. The 5 tunes are not shift on the fly, you have to re-write the ECM anytime you switch as of right now.

Can you share if the mechanical process is similar to the dark iron diesel video on the 17-23? Also, did you have to replace / send your ecm in or is it just a plug into your laptop and wait? And is there an option for just a single tune or are you required to get the 5?

I'll have to watch the video you are talking about, but the process is almost identical to the previous body style. Instead of removing the Y-bridge and turbo to get the SCR out, I just loosen the cab mount bolts and lift the front of the cab up about 2 inches. Gives you more than enough room to get the SCR out from around the turbo. With the 24+ trucks, you have to send your ECM in to HP Tuners to get it unlocked. I would advise everyone to purchase their tuning kit/device first, wait to receive it, then read the stock tune file off your ECM and send it to the tuner. Then send your ECM off to get unlocked, and by the time you get your ECM back from HP Tuners (roughly 5 days turn around, door to door), your tuner should have your Tuned File/Files back to you. During the waiting period you can do all of the labor items, like the exhaust, down pipe, EGR plates, etc. As for the tunes, you can opt for just getting a Single tune of your choice.

Data logging today to see if there’s anywhere I can adjust the tuning to optimize power and efficiency. Transmission tuning would really benefit these trucks. I’m doing my best to find out if we can do that as our TCM’s are exactly the same as the 20-23’s. And GM’s torque management really kills power.

Congrats! I'm new to the truck/diesel family, but am excited to drop some weight myself. It'll probably be after my warranty expires though.
I added the Banks Derringer and Pedal Monster. If I were to go through this process, would this negate the Derringer, since it's a tuner? I'm guessing the pedal monster would still be usable?
