Apple car play issues

I’ve got a 24 at4 and an iPhone pro 13. Most of the time, everything connects via Bluetooth and all is well, but sometimes the phone only partially connects (for lack of a better term). it seems to connect as if it’s a random brand of phone, so my calls come through but I get none of the apple car play features. It drives me bananas when it doesn’t connect properly because I can’t call/text via voice commands.

Does anyone else have these issues? My dealer initially told me it was a known problem and made an appointment to try to solve it. But when I brought it in, they said they couldn’t recreate the problem and therefor couldn’t do anything about it.

Maybe this is coincidence, but it seems to happen more, or maybe even exclusively, on colder days. I thought maybe it was because I was command starting but I’ve definitely also had the issue when starting normally.

Just checking but is your phone up to date? I know the last few updates have jacked up my iPhone with dodges connect. Seems like it got semi fixed a the last update.

Do you have the issue only when it’s wireless or does it do it also when you’re plugged in?

My phone is up to date. This issues have been sporadic since I bought the truck in December. I’ve never actually tried plugging it in. I’d prefer it to always work via Bluetooth.
