Yeah, they are very hard vehicles to find.
She's been searching online. Texts me links every day from dealers within 500 miles who "have one" available. What she doesn't seem to yet grasp is most of those vehicles the dealers list on their site as available are already spoken for before they ever get to the lot.
We found two that would work, but both had a horrible tan/orange interior color - just a no-go for a 75K+ vehicle. At this point, I think I have gotten her to give up the search for now. We don't "need" one really badly, but it would be helpful. She has a 2020 AT4 carbon pro 3.0 diesel truck, and at the time I gently tried to sway her to a Tahoe or Yukon, But she didn't want a "mom" vehicle. So here we have two trucks (hers and mine), and often more bodies to haul around than 5 people which these trucks can haul. I knew the math when she got her truck in 2020 and knew this would be an issue for seating space. She was driving a 2018 Kia Sorrento, which was actually loaded and pretty nice. Sat 8 if need be. A tight fit for 8 but it would do it. But it was too much of a "mom" vehicle for her, plus our drive up to our house IS very steep, twisty and long... in Montana winters the Kia wasn't up to snuff some of the time.
Hell, I searched and searched just to find her 2020 AT4 3.0 carbon pro in satin steel metallic back in April of 2020. Covid had just hit, most dealerships were closed to the public, and these trucks were hard to find. Finally found one in Reno we bought sight unseen. Took 40 days for the dealer to ship it to us (they said covid screwed up trucking and shipments - probably mostly accurate). But I worked hard to find her exactly what she wanted then. Not gonna go to as much trouble now. Plus I don't want the extra $ of payments, which it would be.
If one falls in our lap that is right, sure, I guess. But I am not playing phone/text/email tag with multiple car salespeople to find her the rig she wants this time.
