2022 Refresh Order Experience

@That 713 Drank @Lumpy any updates on yours? I think we had the same build around 5/30. Mine i still in Mexico.

I also found Mary Barra's email address online and sent her a kind message asking when it would be moving. Her office actually reached out this week and said they've escalated to the local management there. Who knows if that's true
The last update I got from GM chat was that it was waiting for a semi-conductor chip. No estimate on when those chips would arrive. It's all built but just waiting on a little chip.

Who is this Mary Barra you speak of?

Well I think that’s pretty much it for me everybody. I’m not sure how I feel with a finished truck sitting for a chip. Like someone else said I can’t imagine the quality issues that will arise. GM did a poor job of handling the chip shortage. Plugged away as if nothing ever happened. Raise prices on us, forced subscriptions down our throat. Sent 70K trucks incomplete with retro fits for the future. The best bet it seems to me is put an order in right at the new year. Most people who ordered in January and February already have their trucks. It’s the individuals who were late to the punch, say March and April, who are still waiting for chips. I’m more than likely canceling my order and depending on price increases put an order in for a 2023 model in January. Can’t see how out of 100k trucks sitting I’ll be seeing my truck anytime soon.

FYI they are accepting orders for the 23 model.

My order was placed on 2/19 and still no truck. My original TPW was 6/20 but now GM changed it to 7/25.

I don't think it matters so much when you order it, just if the dealer you order from has the allocations. I ordered mine 4/25. It got built the week of 5/30 and is still waiting on a chip. At least I know I don't need it so I'm cool with being patient for it. I feel bad when I read that people sold their cars or made other financial moves expecting it in a certain time frame only to be delayed.

Welcomed this guy home today. Just like everyone else has said, pictures don’t do these things justice. Everything is bigger and better than I expected. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. For those of you still waiting- hang in there - it’s worth it in the end.

I would give it up too if it wasn't for price protection and the probable price increase for the 2023.

So a bit of good news. I talked to my dealer today and he said these trucks are just showing up. They had one come in for somebody yesterday and it was never listed as in transit. I check the inventory on the gmc site and this one never appeared and now it shows at the dealership. At least this gives those of us waiting some hope. He told me the one that showed up had a production date of 5/27. They also own a Chevy dealership across the street and the same thing is happening.

I want to say someone had a similar story a couple pages back or maybe I just imagined it. Any piece of good news is always welcome. Myself and at least 2 other guys had a TPW of 5/30. I noticed in my area there was a big push of AT4 going out today. 1 dealer showed at least 8 in transit which I find kind of crazy. Hopefully that means they received a shipment of chips and are pushing them out now.

Its hard to tell what, where or why but the Cdn dealer ship put in their orders in December to get their allotments so those of you waiting patiently don't know if your order took the place of a retail truck ordered in December or the one you ordered when you did? Hopefully the ones you ordered will arrive soon. :)
